Texture Painting
Texture That Transforms
From subtle orange peel to bold skip trowel — we apply texture coatings that add dimension, hide imperfections, and define a room's character.
More Than Paint on a Wall
Texture painting adds a layer of visual and tactile interest that flat paint simply can't achieve. It also serves a practical purpose — the right texture can hide drywall seams, nail pops, and surface imperfections that would otherwise require extensive skim coating.
Our crews are experienced with every texture style from the lightest sand finish to heavy knockdown and skip trowel. We match existing textures on repairs and apply new textures consistently across large surfaces.
Texture Styles
What We Apply
Orange Peel
A light, subtle texture that resembles the skin of an orange. The most common residential texture — adds interest without being heavy.
Knockdown
Compound is applied and then lightly flattened with a knife, creating irregular flat patches with subtle depth. Popular in living areas.
Skip Trowel
A hand-applied technique where compound is skipped across the surface in irregular patterns, creating a Mediterranean or old-world look.
Sand Finish
Fine sand mixed into the paint or primer creates a consistent, slightly gritty texture that's durable and easy to touch up.
Smooth Skim Coat
A thin layer of joint compound applied over existing texture to create a perfectly smooth surface — ideal before high-gloss or specialty finishes.
Popcorn Ceiling Removal
We safely remove old popcorn (acoustic) ceiling texture and refinish the surface smooth or with a modern light texture.
Why Texture
Practical and Beautiful
Hides Imperfections
Texture conceals drywall seams, nail pops, and minor surface flaws without extensive skim coating.
Adds Visual Depth
Even a light texture catches light differently throughout the day, giving walls a richer, more finished appearance.
Matches Existing Texture
On repairs and additions, we match the existing texture so patches are invisible.
Durable Surface
Textured walls are more resistant to scuffs and easier to touch up than smooth painted surfaces.
